Right from the beginning of the preparation process, the tea reveals the most wonderful fresh, slightly sweet aroma. The foam is thick, easily whisked, and long-lasting. The taste of the tea is simply amazing! Although this matcha is not marketed as “ceremonial,” its quality is incomparably higher than the so-called “ceremonial” matcha sold in Lithuania. The flavor is rich, dominated by green, “vegetal” notes, with a distinct sweetness typical of okumidori tea, which lingers impressively in the aftertaste. When prepared slightly stronger, a hint of bitterness is noticeable, but it doesn’t overpower; instead, it highlights other flavor nuances. The taste is full-bodied yet uncomplicated. I detect very little umami or “marine” notes in this tea, making it an excellent choice for newcomers unfamiliar with such tea characteristics. As always, Yugen Tea and Osada-san did not disappoint. Once again, I received fresh, high-quality tea that I could enjoy daily. Thank you!
